hey i got my greddy controller set at 1bar low and 1.3bar high(high is just me practicing to set the controller myself and i dont really switch over from low often)

question is though what mods would i need on top of what i got to run 1.2 or 1.3 bar abit more often knowing it was ok and not going to go boom,

mods iv got ,

greddy profec B-spec 2 controller
very large FMIC
bailey BOV
apexi downpipes
apexi induction
full goose system
tarox discs and pads all round
hks afr chip
iridium plugs
AP racing clutch
belive it has a walbro pump too but no proof of it unless i take a look ,
13row mocal oil cooler(delivered soon)
turbo manifold and elbow (soon as iv got some money)

also i have a RR print out claming 256.9bhp at wheels

does this also sound about right for the mods i have already

Check your fuel pump. It only takes 5 mins.

I had basically the same mods as you and ran my standard turbo at 1.2 bar for a year with no problems.

as long as the fuel pumps upgraded you should be fine. get it on a rolling road to be 100% sure though. just because you have all the right upgrades, doesnt allways mean its fueling right as these cars are a bit old, something could be broken.

I'm sure that Jim (cambellju) told me that 1.2 bar is the sweet spot for some strange reason.
You go off the top of the standard map and the ECU just starts throwing fuel at it... and so the A/F ratio goes out the window. However, when you get to 1.2 bar the air flow is high enough that it comes back to optimum.
It's entirely empirical, and shouldn't really work... but for some reason it seems to. I don't know if anyone has investigated the phenomenon properly, I think Jim wanted to get some cars on a rolling road and get some lambda sensor readings to work it out...
Anyway, that's 5p worth.

you really need bigger Injectors and MAF as both max out at just over 1 bar,

my MAF and Injectors are at 100% at 1.2bar, but fueling is spot on!!

Just a thought 'Godzilla', when i ran my car at 1.2 bar i did have bigger injectors (550's) and i had the standard ecu fitted with a chip then mapped to suit. You really should get your car on the rollers before you go thrashing about at anything over a bar of boost. You never know what damage your doing.

I would have to agree with Matty. Its not worth running your car at 1.2 or 1.3 just yet. It will be much safer and cheaper to keep it at a bar for now. You've got a head on your shoulders matey and understand that it isnt all about ragging it and you respect the car. Just hold fire with the boost until you get the right mods.;-)

Once you do get it mapped, it will feel like a new car!

Yeah to be on the more reliable side stay at 1 bar. To be more reliable at 1.2bar get bigger injectors and a Z32 or Q45. Get it mapped and you'll be all good. As said before, try and do as many mods before you get it mapped to take full advantage of the mods.

i will do will it still run ok like day to day getting to work etc once iv got everything on it before i get it mapped as dont really want to pay the ppl to fit all the stuff as well as map it will cost me a bomb,

lol. yeah it should all be fine! Dont pay people to fit the bits, do it yourself and save yourself that bomb. Or bring it to me and i'll do it and charge you half a bomb. Things are easy enough to do and we are always here to help.
