Although im eager to turn up the boost, i thought it best to invest in monitoring equipment also

So i thought id get an AEM wideband to show me if i was runnig lean.

But i just read about knock sensors:doh: Presumably i also need one of these to tell if im getting DET even when my AFR is ok, or would the wideband be enough?

tbh the standard det sensor does a very good job when it is ok (they do break a lot on gtirs)
with a wideband u should be able to turn up boost to possibly 1.2 bar with some bolt on's aslong as fueling is safe u should be fine

yeah but my std det sensor goes to the boost cut solenoid (i think), but thats not connected anymore!

Why, does it connect to another place also?

I am going with a PLX-R500. It has 2 speed and 4 analog inputs. Will use 2 speed for RPM and Km/H , the other 4 will be Knock using a resonant type sensor (bosch), EGT, AFR (wideband) and single axis G-sensor.
It can log/store these parameters for around an hr too ;)
