Side Exit Exhaust

Thinking about making one of these, anybody know of a cheap 3" inlet backbox I could use

do any cars have this size inlet as std so I could get one from a scrappy?

If not what other suggestions

You can make you own 3'' box......but you will need a 1 mm thick stainless stell plate.
Roll the plate and put inside some straight exhaust filter.

For example: My grandfather use to participate in rallying back in the 70's and then you could not find sports exhausts like in our days.
And they use to fabricate them from stainless steel rolled plates and deburrs left from stainless steel plates cutting.

I don't know if this makes any sense to you but i am into fabricating stuff and not buying stuff

whas straight exhaust filter, is it the perforated pipe? does anything go in between the 2?

yes Steve it's the perforated pipe. In between you can put something like this http://www.mataliat.ro/images/span.gif stainless steel deburs.

You can actually buy "muffler packing" from places - I know Demon Tweaks sell it to repack custom mufflers etc.
It's probably lighter than filling the sapce with steel chaffing... but I don't really know.

looks a bit small though considering its the only silencing, cheap enough though, probably cost near that to make one
