Spark Plug Replacement

Probably been answered before but how long before you should be replacing the spark plugs...

I currently use the HKS S45i Plugs... Car only gets driven at the weekends as I'm away round Europe during the week... I try to give them a clean with a wire brush every now and again...

I heard that the HKS Iridium spark plugs last up to 40,000 miles.
The servicing guide for regular cars such as the Ford Mondeo suggests that the spark plugs are replaced every 20,000 miles, so 40,000 for the HKS ones seems about right in my opinion.

The standard plugs are replaced at 60 000miles according to the manual, not sure about the uprated ones tho. At a guess, when they start playing up
