standard manifold question?

had enough of my cheap ebay manifold bowing gaskets...
So im gonna re-fit standard manifold, jus wondered in the end that bolts to turbo there is a big lump of metal inside, which looks like it splits the two cylinders? can i do away with this or is it there for a good reason???
Hopefully this is not gobbady gook and you guys can understand what i mean...

I'm sure you can get rid of it, Search for Ported manifold.

could not find any how to etc.. mabe im no good at searching?
ive got two standard manifolds so gonna give it a try any whats the worst that could happen?
