strange electrical problem

when i turn the car on in the morning its like something is draining electrical power.the wipers are slow,the fan is slow and my bluetone dials dont light up.it stays like this untill i drive down the road and rev past about 2.5k and its all back to normal.everything also works fine before i start the car so its not the battery being duff.its almost as if the alternator needs to spin up fast enough before it starts working.any ideas?

Check the alternator belt tension. Might be slipping slightly until the overnight moisture gets worn off.

My power steering belt started doing the same thing recently (dog heavy steering for a minute or so after starting) with the onset of cold nights.... nipped it up a turn on the adjuster and it's fine.
