timing marks

looking down at the timing marks on my crank pulley
i can see five marks i need to know wot they mean
ie wot each mark is in degrees BTDC

becuase the tamper sticker on my dizzy is broken
and the car is dettin badly am thinkin its been advanced
from standard in yapan

any help muchos appreciated?

Timing HOW-To needs changing to tell u which timing mark to use!

Could do with a piccy of the TPS connector you need to disconnect.

Otherwise it's spot on.

The marks are 5 degree segments and which mark you use depends on what fuel/octane you are using as you may be aware that the fuel in japan is not the same as ours :wink: ie play safe and retard it to 18 degrees

So it should be somewhere near the last mark then...


When I checked mine last the marks were flicking back and forth between the last mark and the one before... must be a slight misfire I guess (?)

Thats it just line it up with the marker and your set. unless your marker has snapped off like mine. It makes it harder to read :oops:

theres hould be 6 marks and they will be (from the back to front) -5, 0, +5, +10, +15, +20

im sure mine only has 5 marks on the pulley ? but ill recheck it
thats wot i needed thanks alot guys
