Turbo fade

Chaps,

After a while in storage I took my pulsar for a drive around the Cairngorms! Great scenery!
Car just passed its MOT, however I noticed around 5-6k rpm their is little pull / boost from the turbo?! It then kicks in again and pulls really well through to 8k rpm……

Is this normal / usual problem?

I'm no expert but i wouldn't say that's normal. i can't remember mine ever doing that.

Is it the same time every time in all gears or just one gear in particular?

Seems to be in any gear…….

it pulls well up to 5k rpm, then the pull is very lumpy / bumpy through to 6k rpm. After that pulls amazingly again.

I've got a similar problem with mine.....pulls really smooth but then feels lumpy at 5k. Because of this I haven't taken it past 4.5k since noticing it so I can't comment on how it reacts past 5k. I'm hoping it just needs the map looking at so it will be going off for mapping soon.

well i guess if it were fueling it would just be lumpy all the time but its not. it could be something to do with the map which would mean there are multiple factors at play here.

hopefully there will be someone more knowledgeable than me on soon who could give a more experienced answer.
