As you may have have seen in the Genral R section my turbo fecked after 100 miles.

Im not sure if I should re-build it or get a new one. Can someone please help me out. Im not looking for big power anymore, 400bhp would do me fine max.

What turbo would be suttabiule or should the one I have get re-built?

400bhp ? well....my turbo has given up cause it was too old. i´d rebuilded it with 360° axial bearings, and uprated internals. would be good for 1.7 bar maximum.

i´d read much about the 3071´s. they were often fitted. think about it finaly it depends on you. would you like to have boost about 3500rpms or want an ass kick at 4500-5000 ?

My turbo wasn't even 100 miles old and it gave up on me, im not sure if it is worth re-beiling that or getting a new one.

I just want a reliable R with some decent power and not OTT.

a friend of me fitted an hks gt 2540R. should be good for 400+ bhp. power kicks in at about 4000rpm.

if you want good power, an std tuby at about 1,5bar would not make as good "power" as an bigger one at lower boost !

ive just had mine rebuilt because the oil seals went:x
give turbo dynamics a call they seem to be very helpfull:-D
