Can anyone recommend a good mig welder for general welding and fabrication.

If anyone has one lying about to sell let me know.

Thanks,

Tony.

hi mate, im a welder/fabricator, i have used many welders, i suppose u r after a single phase 1 that u can plug into your mains socket, these will never be as good as a 3phase machine but they r ok as long as u get a half decent 1. if u buy a cheap one u will almost always have trouble with it and even when it does work properly it will produce shoddy looking welds. i have found the best single phase welders are ESAB. look on the net for em, and dont be put off by old machines. some of the esab 3 phase welders we use at work are 20years old and produce better welds than the brand new cebora welders which cost us 1800quid lol. u might pay around 500 for a new single phase esab but it will be well worth it. u may find a second hand one for a lot less altho most r 3 phase as this is what the industry mainly use. basically its worth spending a bit more to get a decent 1 u will really notice the difference. if u need any more advice let me know and i will be happy to help. cheers and good luck mate.
