which wire does what

black = ground i take it

so which is colour is the 12v ignition power source...
12v constant power source...
and illumination source (parking lamp etc)

Do you know how to use a multimeter?

It all depends how much current you are after. All those mentioned can be taken off the supply feeding the stereo headunit.

Thats no to the multimeter, and at present they are runnning of the yellow wire and also the black... they have given me two problems 1) the dash light now does not work and the temp probe and the control buttons on the gauge are not working...
Found this on the hks web page but confussed about what wires are what in the centre dash
well hks instructions say black wire to ground, and is that not the black wire in the gtir...
the red wire to connects to a 12v ignition power source... which is what wire in a gtir????
the orange to a 12v constant... which is what wire in a gtir ????
and the yellow wire in the harness to an illumonation source... which is what wire...
sorry if i sould an idiot but im not to mechanically minded
