refusing to run

hi folks, ive just been out in my pulsar and whilst i was in 3rd gear i put my foot to the accelerator to the floor and then at about 4.5 rpm i heard what sounded like a sneeze and then the car lost all drive, when i dipped the clutch the revs just died and the engine then cut out, i managed to get to the side of the rd and opened the bonnet to inspect it to see if there was anything wrong but i didnt see anything obvious so then decided to try start the car back up again, the car started back up 1st time but as soon as u apply any throttle to the accelerator the engine would rev up but then when i let the accelerator off the car wont idle and then it would eventually cut out. when ive managed to keep it running theres a very strong smell of petrol, with also smoke coming out of the turbo area, and sounds like its running on 3 cylinders. i have a gasket leak by the manifold, could this be contributing to this problem?

thanx

i will also go and have a look at the hoses now

thanx
I see little sign of editing but I can almost hear the sneeze.... ;-)
That sounds like a large vacuum hose. Your box may have given up and under little load you popped a hose.... VRoooooM
Have you lost all drive... maybe your clutch gave up....Your ECU is now confused?... try a fault code check. May tell you why it's runing so rich!.... 3 cylinders does not sound good..... hope not.
The leak at the manifold will give you a drop in power and if you do not get fed up with the rasp... you will fall asleep with the fumes... Turbo seals gone.....
If it was a horse, you may consider shooting it...

dont be a keyboard warrior please, its pathetic

indeed the boost hose did come off, and all seems well now

thanx for your efforts

that's easier to read, if you'd done it the first time things might have been different.
