Advice req' for SR20 tuning!

Hi, I am hoping someone can shed some light on this issue.

At the moment, my car is making approx. 350 WHP @ 1 BAR boost, or a tad over 400 BHp at the flywheel. (The car is a Nissan Almera GTi, hence FWD)

When mapping the car, the dyno. operator stated that the MAF was close to maxxing out.

I am using a Z32 MAF with Power FC Pro management.

Does this sound about right, and if so is a Q45 MAF the next step?

If the Q45 MAF is the way to go, then are the horror stories of poor idling /drivability true?

im reasonably sure that the z32 wont start to max out till around 480 odd, the q45 is a downgrade i believe and not an improvement over z32.

if im wrong then im sure someone in the know will correct me

we have done a dyno proven 420 on a q45 maxed out and 460 on a z32 the z32 had a little more left in it aswell what voltage are you seeing from the maf
 
Aye soldering on buddy, trying to Kev P1 motivated the now, to get leannes winter green R back out to play :)
As everytime betsy comes out, something breaks lol.
But have to say, the Micra was better :)
How is the almera holding up with the lump in it.
Who you using for the mapping buddy?

I happily run a Z32 at 450hp and helped mapped Sasha's to around 500hp if not more now. It's still not a bottle neck yet, the turbo is now. Q45 electronics max out sooner as others have said even though it uses a larger bore. AFM's are non-linear so so even if you only have a little voltage left it might go longer than you think.

Unless you want to throw your ECU and sensor out, I believe others have swapped their Z32 electronics into a Q45 housing. You then just need to rescale your existing map rather than messing with temp sensors and MAP sensors.

Even if you are well over 500hp you might get away with it anyway as at the ragged edge of the sensor's capabilities will be at WOT and high revs where you can just fudge the map to throw in more fuel. That's unless of course you normally drive around at 80% at High rev WOT and your mapper has made the effort to map each of those cells rather than just adding 20% more fuel across everything at the top end!

Nothing changed there then eh?

As for the Micra being better, yeah, it was fun, but it was a disaster waiting to happen, hence why I won't do it again.

The engine is holding up great. I had it mapped by Alan at AVA last June and haven't had to do a thing to it since.
