Leaking Caliper

Hey guys,

I've had to attach two Wilwood Calipers together in order to create one (inner half from one and outer half from another). The problem I'm having is the small rubber seal that passes the fluid from one half to the other isn't holding the fluid under pressure, and is leaking when the brake pedal is pressed - does anyone have an idea to stop this happening? I'm assuming torquing the two halves even tighter together is risky considering a thread could strip.

Cheers.

No - however it is a simple job? Obviously I have a new one (from the other half of the new caliper). If I can switch it over easily enough I'll just do that. I was under the impression it was firmly attached to the caliper.

Actually looking back on it - the inner half of the caliper (which feeds the outer half) is new, so the seal is unused. I'm baffled as to why this is happening? I'll have to take it all apart again tomorrow and take a good look. Is there some sort of sealant I should use?

Yeah check the seal, when I re-furb'd mine the little rubber seal popped off.

Give it a clean, make sure it’s not damaged and ensure it’s aligned up correctly.

When I did mine it never leaked, so there is certainly an issue there.

There again it might be a call to RD for more parts

I certainly hope not mate - it's been nothing but a pain in the arse!

Still, I'll go over it all very thoroughly tomorrow afternoon and see if I can make any progress.

Cheers bud.
