You need to tell him that it's his responsibility and ask him when the trailer will arrive to bring it back.

i darenot drive it. i rang the guy and he said it sounds loke no oil getting to cams.
bingo, sounds like hes mixed up the cam caps, the end one had a hole in it for the oil feed to the squirters, bet hes mixed it up with another one with a hole.

as said take it back, something is definately not right there and as said your cams could be ruined in no time!

hi all. we now know wot the squeeling noise was inside the rocker cover... the oil pump has packed in.no oil coming out of spray bars and was dry as a bone. we poured oil over the cams while it was running and hey presto.. no squeeling. he stripped the top end off and lucky there was no damage so now we need an oil pump. does anyone know how hard they are to change as he said he has never done one.any advice is much appreciated.

If your oil pump was broken you would'nt have much/any oil pressure so the warning light would have been on in the car/the pressure gauge would be reading close to zero and finally in this state your big's and main bearing's would be cooked,I would look at the cam caps if i were you

How far has the car been driven like this?

I would be wary of letting this chap near the car tbh

yes as above!
also make sure youve not driven over any humps and dented your sump (maybe when car was driven off ramp!!!) as that will almost immediately cause oil pickup probs too as the oil pickup only sits around 5mm from the bottom of pan, the slightest dent can cause major probs.

the oil pressure has never been any good since i got the car. it has never reached 4 on the std gauge. now it dont move at all. maybe the pump has been gone all along as i have not driven car. maybe thats why the other cams were shot when i got it. the sump is ok, no dents at all.i only drove the car about 5 miles but very very slowly to get home.

i had the same problem, what it was, theres a pipe just behind the oil cap, the pipe had a tiny split in it or tighten the bolt comig to the rocker, that worked a dream 4 me!

Eh? Are you talking about the PCV; that's the only thing coming off the rocker cover near the filler cap, but it shouldn't affect your oil pressure at all; your idle maybe, but not the pressure!
That hose will get pretty damaged from all the crank case vapours, and quite a few people have simply taken the PCV out; it made no difference to my oil pressure...
