clean engine

hi new here just bought R and has bin lyn up a wile and the rocker cover gasket looks like its gone a wile very oily was just wondering how or wats the best way to clean the engine // thanks

Firstly I would jump in and replace the rocker gasket if it hasn't been done already. Otherwise just throw some plastic bags over the electrics in the engine bay and get to work with some degreaser and a steam cleaner mate!

Steam cleaning a no no
In my younger days i would do this to an engine, and end up with more oil leaks than the bp drilling rig
