bcr8es are commonly used on Pulsars.

Both of your questions could of been answered by using the search tool ;-)

Welcome to the club.
What else have you been told is in it? - Common things are the clutch and gearbox internals; until you take them out and apart you can't tell if they are what you were told was there. I'm a bit concerned that the HKS cams I think I've got aren't in there either (my Nismo clutch was an Exedy).

On the upside, you don't need a forged engine to run 297bhp, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

These things happen when buying these sorts of cars, I never trust what anyone says when buying.

It gets even more confusing if the person who sold it to you believed the parts were in there too. - I don't think the guy I bought mine off had it that long, so when he was told the engine was rebuilt with HKS cams, and it had a Nismo clutch in it, he believed it. Mind you, he also thought it had an RB box because it ran out of steam at about 120mph... except it seems to me it's more like an RA box with the limiter still on the clocks.

I don't feel ripped-off because I didn't pay extra for all that... but it has made me wonder what else I was told about the car that's not accurate.

Why would you rebuild it again? - If there's nothing wrong with it and you really want a forged one, you'd be better off buying someone else's and on-selling your old one as a good recently-rebuilt one.

c i bought the car of a fella that put a lot into it ,its not forged as i found out but only reason he sold it was it was stolen on him and recoverd all the money he put into it and never alarmed it so in just abit weary of the car as it was trashed for a few hours

Rebuilding your engine to a basic(just forged pistons) forged spec will probably cost £2k.You can buy someone elses with more fancy bits on for about the same or less sometimes.I spent a few thousand just on the bits for mine before any labour/machining costs. An old saying applies particularly well here-if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
