There alot appearing at the minute especially on pistonheads, i know a couple of them need a bit of work but bloody hell people are giving them away. does anyone know these cars?

ive been noticing this as well, I thought prices were stabilising and possibly on the rise, hence why I just spent over 2k on bodywork

My R is due me just a smidge over 5k since I bought it 6 months ago, and going on those prices I'll struggle to get 3 for it if I decided to sell

The seller of the 4th one makes me laugh 'Robin Hood'...buying from the rich and selling to the poor? The last one would surely be worth purchasing by someone close to it just for parts alone?

the 1st one looks like a bargain if it only needs a turbo, although as johnsy says, they may not actually have those parts fitted!

yeah they are cheap for a reason but surely some of them shouldn be going for nearly 1k. Like has already been said i thought prices were rising i kept seeing threads where prices seem to be stabilising. I sort of understand why our cars are cheap by reading previous threads, but they are rare cars now

A pulsar that is on pistonheads has usualy if its underpriced got a blown turbo, a bleed valve on it, been ragged to shit until the clutch, gearbox, hgasket all these things go, then its slung back on there needing "minor" work a pulsar with no MOT etc is also pretty worthless if it has rust,

why does everyone think theres loads of money in scrapping standardish cars lol
in fact theres no money in it any more and youll make more selling the car in one piece even if it is for a knock down price, theres just too many bits available for the amount of descent cars left on the road so its a buyers market.
thats why weve cut back hugely on the amount we scrap.

prices are only rising in peoples (enthusiasts) minds, in the real world prices are dictated by those that sell on ebay, autotrader and pistonheads etc.....thats unfortunate but is none the less the facts of the matter

I would say the prices are down due to high fuel/running costs and if you going to buy cheap gtir you will buy it twice..Its the well looked after Gti-r's that are the rare..

I thought prices were on the rise too Rich, i think they will eventually go up once all the rough ones get scrapped and theres only a few left. I was seriously on the hunt for a mint standard one for a while there to preserve it but couldnt find one. Im happy to hang onto mine and im sure you have no plans to sell your new one, its a real nice one m8.
