handbrake car wont drive

happy new year everyone

i'm having a problem with the r.

my brakes were starting to bind so i had to use my handbrake to stop from a speed of 10mph

now i put the car in gear but it wont move

could the handbrake be stuck too?

Yes. - Chances are that it was the rear brakes that were causing the problem, and now they've seized with the handbrake on.

I've never really had any problems with the fronts, but the rears have had to be rebuilt and parts replaced (pistons, and the caliper return spring) on mine.

I read it as "I was doing 10mph and used the handbrake to stop as the pedal wasn't working".

splmum: scared? This was in my DRIVE and if I didnt use the handbrake I'd have gone into my garage .

It is a bit of a straight forward problem it must be the rear brakes I'd of just stripped them down to check them out rather than ask a bit of a daft question, My suggestion is either get a rebuild kit or buy some re-furbed calipers they can't cost much more than £40 each exchange surely ?.
