any interest in rear quarter panels?

Anybody interested in buying full rear quarter panels for their R?

I was thinking of ordering a pair while they are still available and copying them in metal and fibreglass.

The first ones would be the expensive ones. If there was enough interest it would be worth doing. I estimate it would cost about £700 per side to buy 1 and copy one. After that the bonus is they would be much cheaper

Metal reinforcement for mounting points? Used to laminate them in when I made bits for Sunseekers.

Normally they rivet and bond them on but I think you'd have to do quite a bit of strengthening to fit a whole fibre glass quarter.

OK, similar to boat construction. Screwed together with stainless bolts and Sikaflex with alloy/ marine ply reinforcement plates and woven mat in high stress areas. Could work.

It does sound like a dam good plan, but you have to be carefull regarding the MOT when it comes to replacing any metal with a composite close on any main structure of the car...

the metal press place I spoke to said that I would need to order at least 10 per side to warrant them making the panels ( in steel). After this the panels could be made in smaller numbers and significantly cheaper than the first 10. The person/company who requested the panel would then be the sole owners of that panel
