That was still using the oem top mount (not that the top mount made that much difference)

Now I see around 100-110oC on track for similar periods of time with my oil cooler

Now that is weird! Going to be copying how your car is with mine I think, grown out of the idea of BHP and as your car handled and performed so well I don't think there is any need for more.

Just want an idea of sizing.. im only running 1bar on stock motor and ecu tune.
most of my modification is in the suspension and front and rear diffs.

I run a 16 row mocal. Others run 19 some smaller. I have connections to bypass mine if i am using the car when its colder weather. Front mounting the cooler or top mounting are both options depending on your set up

It's either 13 or 16 row, it's not massive. Mine is also mounted in the brake duct of the front bumper so it gets clean cool air.

Just to note, when I'm on the road, I just cover the cooler with some 3mm plywood.
Cheap, easy to make (painted black) and when fitted it let's the end warm up as normal.

Ha, I've added a front mount and new turbo since we last met!

Jim and I have been mapping it until the gearbox gave in.

Nothing major power, just high 300's for track use, so it's still usable and reliable (hopefully).

Afternoon,ive been under the car today to see if I could find the source of the leak before I started her up and I couldn't find a thing,it looks a right t**t to change the hoses from under the car,I started her up and she proceeded to spit water/coolant everywhere when she got up to temp,I couldn't tell if it was a split hose,but I did notice a good spray coming from what seemed like right under the inlet manifold on the drivers side,is it possible for the head gasket to fail between a waterway/journal whatever the term is,and atmosphere,and would it spray out between the head and block?

I would say its more than likley a hose split

Thats my initial thought, just locating the problem while your on your back under the car getting covered in coolant is a t**t to say the least, ill just have to replace the hoses when I get a spare 5mins, still looks a pain in the arse to do with the exhaust, oil filter and steering arm out the way though, dont fancy removing the inlet, ohh the joys.

Samco offer a "auxiliary hose kit" for the rear of our cars.

Wait time for manufacture is 4 weeks aprox!

I would think the spring is there to stop the pipe collapsing .

Yeah they offer it, but when you choose any of the colours, it says: " Est 4 Weeks Del"

As long as your ok with waiting that long...no problem.

Many people don't stock the kit as they are not a big seller!

Its not the daily so time isnt a problem,will give my local nissan a call to see if they can get the hoses and see what they say on time.

Before I had an oil cooler a 15 min session at castle combe on a not particularly warm day in may got mine upto 120 degrees with half that power ;-)

Yep. will have it somewhere. May take me a while to look it up however. It was a pretty warm may bank holiday I think. But has airtemps etc too.

Never had a problem with water temps.....but oil temps with no oil cooler on Anika hit 150oc on Friday, and my other car they get to 110-120ish oc with a cooler after 20laps of coombe.

You can use the spring from your exiting stock hose surely?
I hope this is the usuall done thing as I fitted my samco's this weekend & just swapped the spring over it fits straight into the samco pipe.
Amber performance supplied mine but as mentioned before it's a 4 week wait from them as well, £82 I think from memory.
