Was at knockhill last Sunday, car ran great pleasantly surprised a lot I'd big bhp cars.

Fitted the new evo caliper set up at the front and they were a massive change for the better.

my problem is the fuelling, the last track day when I ran under half a tank I got some hesitation, as the track was reversed I was getting the hesitation between 3 quarters and half full. Me thinks I need a swirl pot set up.

i have heard their could be someone out there that does an in tank swirl pot mod....... Does anyone know this person/company. Or does anyone have any ideas or anything for sale.

cheers craig

No he never said. Its still at his place.

I had a custom swirl pox made up just for the pulsar and a swirl pot and pump sit inside it.

My swirl pit is at the other scotts. Not sure if am going to need it now as am going to try and make a fuel tank and swirl pot in one.

This is my current swirl pot system:

Two teabag fuel filters, a lenght of chemical resistant pipe and some cable ties.

Fit teabag to pump (tie wrap on) make a small incision in to the pump filter, feed in pipe and cable tie tightly.

Second filter make another incision and push the other end of the pipe intothe filter. Tie wrap up tight as possible.

Hey presto, an intank pick up system and will run without issues untill the fuel light comes on.

Cheap yes, crude, very, does it work, absolutely and cost me next to nothing.

It might not be eveyones idea of a quality idea, but its worked on my track car for 3 years

Having been in your car I know it works but never thought about it. Have you got any pics or internet links that show how it works as I can't picture the detail?

Find the biggest fuel filter you can (1/2L?) , fit it on the pump discharge and that will hold a store of pressurised fuel...............
cheap, oh yes

I'll have a look at pulling it out of the tank next weekend and take some pictures.

Hopefully gives you an idea of what I mean and how I've done it!

Thanks Andy and Jon, I know you both use your cars properly! Funny how an issue can be solved relatively easily.

I'm not saying the 1/2L fuel filter is a fix. My setup is a full 1L swirl pot and twin pumps, one a lift pump the other a push pump. Best solution, but messy to implement.
The tank is the difficulty. Having a prop up the middle and no balance pipe. So fuel sloshes side to side. My next setup will have the swirl pot under the bonnet, for a whole lot of reasons. More to think about

That sounds a bit more serious and is what has put me off in the past. thanks for the feedback

I think putting it under the bonnet might be a good solution. - I thought there are issues with having the swirl pot within the car from the MSA; it needs to be enclosed to prevent fires?

Putting it in the engine bay would mean you've got a pump and supply really close to the fuel rail (so always maximum pressure/flow), the engine bay is not within the ca (so no fire risk), and I'd guess you can have a kill switch right there to stop the fuel flowing.

Thanks all. I'll speak to scott and see what he says.

stu if you don't won't just give scott a price and I'll take mate.

Pobody. Agreed. These are all the reasons for my next build I'm going to try and fit it there...Not much room though, and especially when I get my water cooled intercooler in there...

Andy did you ever get pics of this? I'm sure I saw it or something similar somewhere.
