Power steering hose from tank to pump

Unfortunately this hose is leaking at the reservoir end. Can I swap the pipe out with an ordinary vac hose? Can I use a normal jubilee clip at this end as it is not on the high pressure side?

Can you not get just enough length to chop it back slightly ( jubilee clip width) normally enough to sort it

Looks like that has been done before as the hose is a little bit away from the end stop on the tank pipe.
