new alternators i got quotd £500 (for jap spec one)
any local auto electricians should be able to recon it for you, the pulsar alternator takes, mostly mitsubishi parts in it (i believe) so are quite easy to recon
and yep i had the same prbs to "Hit boost" when mine went 8)
