gearbox

this may sound weird but here goes i blew first gear about 3 weeks ago and drove it around for a few days then i lost 2nd gear or so i thought until the other day when i took it out and it worked 2nd gear i mean. So i have been using it for my work in the morning. But i took it for a drive say 30min and now i cant get second. Is it because there is friction happening in the gearbox which is jamming the gear or something.

You will probably find that its something in the gearbox which is expanding under the heat after a longish drive. I would say if first gear has gone then the rest will follow if you carry on driving it.

Have you done a search to see if there have been similar prob's??
