Get the strengthening kit and have it stitch welded not seam welded;-)

List of goodies you should get....

Blydenstein stage 1 head,
Courtenay group N chip,
Courtenay hi torque cams,
Mantzel power cap
and a few little other bits and you will see 200bhp,trust me;-)

Oh and if you have one of the rare 156bhp Astra GTE edition engines thats always a good start8)

Youve got the weight differences about right aswell:p

I know i know, but for the raw power to weight it was a blast.
You know the underdog and stealth etc etc..

Im hoping to give all those nova boys a nice rear end to look at on the strip and track..



SR20DE redtop Highport From EXZ in a stripped out strengthened micra chassis...Rally spec Wide arches and 14x9 borbets to name a tiny amount of the modifications.. Every panel on car to be fibreglass bar the doors and roof..( just got the bonnet and tailgate to do now.. )

also a turbo conversion straight after the MOT.... hoping to have the whole thing finished by xmas..

I wouldn't say its the first micra with the SR20 in .. ive seen two other in the UK...

but thats it... both the others have completly standard shells... im hoping with my further weight reduction and arches enableing fitment of 235-40-14 toyos I can crucially get the power DOWN... which is half the battle with these cars..

Im hoping for around 180 NA with the mods Ive got now.. then around 300 ulitmately with a rebuild and T25/28b, ARP rods, decent HG, NICE FMIC and some fuel managment

Why have a car that cant go round corners?????

Ahh just found this thread.
Remenising about Novas what fab little cars I had many Novas with diffrent engines but best one i had was 1.4 (not standard intenals)with the full origanal nova sport Twin webber 40's and origanal Irmscher.uk. air box the sound was special and the torque :-D:-D:-D:-D:-D and it never complained about any corners i threw it into (adjustable suspension all round and only lowerd 30mm).


I still have the engine and all the webber kit lol never parting with them.

I never had a valver as driving in strait lines doesn't do anything for me i love a car that handles very well.


my driving style loves corners thats why i have gone for the GTiR.


Can't wait to drive it again.

Just slower into corners,get the entrance and weight balance right and then power through and out with a valver:-D

The original nova sport twin 40 webbers that came in the boot when sold new you mean;-) :lol:
Yep keep hold of all that stuff,surely like rocking horse cr4p nowadays:p

There is David Bull who has the SR20DE engine that was convereted to a turbo which is still running and pushing 400 bhp or maybe more.

He did say to me that there was another one but that didn't stay on the road for long as the engine was put in worng etc and it done the drive shafts......so that one doesn't count :lol:
