HARSH RIDE! Koni shocks Apex spring

Evening all. I've currently got an R sat on some koni shocks and Apex springs the look of the car is OK but the ride is awful! I want a lowered stance as even as possible from front to back. However not so hard it breaks your back. At the moment even with the konis set to the softist setting it's still far too harsh on B road driving the car crashes into any undulations on the road and pushed hard is very skittish. What set up are you guys running? All help much appreciated.

I have limited experience with this but as I understand if you have the car too low on standard style struts there isn't actually enough suspension movement and you will constantly hit the bump stops

Exactley as keasty has said and from memory the koni setup is only supposed to be a 30mm lower than stock kit
