It's just a normal sandwich plate with a built-in thermostat and a cap. The sensor in the end is for an AEM temp guage.
I had to have a threaded tube made to screw into the block that the cap screwed onto.....if you remove the original cooler you'll see what needs to be done.
It also means you can run a bigger oil filter than can be used when using a sandwich plate in the usual position (between the filter and engine)
