Racing the Pulsar

Had more good news yesterday, the final results of the year arrived.
I was 11th overall before the last event and getting into the top ten is a goal that I thought would have been impossible at the beginning of the year
I ended up 9th overall (7th, 8th & 9th all on the same points).....that's out of 113+ entrants in the Midland Championship.
An amazing year, how will I follow this in 2012?

Aye been thinking the same about mine, but it aint costing me anything sitting in the garage and i sorned it last week, and thinking about just going modified from now on.

I need something that can get closer to the records and I'm still 2 to 3 seconds away, they were set by a 500+Bhp Evo V......So only thinking about things at the moment....

Phil. If you don,t use your car on the roads as transport, I think it is much better to go fully modified. It works out much cheaper. No tax,insurance,or MOT. As you know
both of my cars are fully mod. You can get the weight down to around 1050 kgs, and with between 400 and 500 bhp, I don,t get much trouble with evo,s and subaru,s.
I hold several hill records, and have done so for a number of years. Remember my first visit to Brecon. It was much quicker than any thing else. cheers den.

Up with me in A3 road class the evos are 500+ bhp, mod class up to 820bhp, i cant win ;-) unless they break down ;-)

Out of interest do you think its simply a matter of power (would you be competitive with 500bhp?) or is that the Pulsar is fundamentally lacking against the evo's?

Most of it is down to power, the high bhp cars are no faster round the corners than the rest of us, up the striaghts and there gone.
my times around the same as a 500bhp evo in road trim, 480 bhp modified evo on slicks is about 1 sec quicker than me on r888s

Anyone thought about getting more power but also more managable too, higher boost, water meth and a proper standalone ecu with all the goodies?

Den I could not afford the slicks (at £1100+ a set) its cheaper for me to run it on the road and insure it plus buy a set 1B tyres (Total of £900) less than one set of slicks. Plus I would never stand a chance in hell against the Mod prods in the Midland and Leaders championships,,,Mr Banks's A4 (approx 800bhp) and that mad 900bhp Evo from Scotland there records are another 5 to 7 seconds and more away and no Pulsar no matter how light or powerfull can catch them or the records.
I love the Road going production class & dont want to change class I just want to go quicker in this class,,,I have some ideas but will probably stick with the Pulsar at least 1 more year.
I know others will be coming out with quicker cars so just trying to think ahead. If you stand still in this sport your start going backwards.
Im not sure about the full spec of the Evo except it was dam quick...it also raced against the A4 Audi and lost big time not seen it much since.
