total engine cut out

Recently after going out for a run, my R totally cut out as I was virtualy freewheeling down hill at 20 mph... no ignition lights or anything??

I pulled over and the started just as normal and runs fine:?

i had been going some 5 mins before, any ideas?? Is there a thermal cut out or anything?

I'd say you lost 12V supply.... Battery or main earth connection. May even be a bad connector going to ignition barrel. If it happens agin, check if your interior light works or hazard lights. If so it's not main battery but a connection after it. There is no thermal cut off to ignition

Check the battery leads, earth leads and alternator for starters.

Check the battery terminals too - I've had a similar thing before and it turned-out that the connections weren't tight on the terminals. Once it looses the circuit the engine is off.

Ive had this happen twice. Once was caused by the plug connectors that go onto the + battery terminal.
Second time was a loose connection in the plug at the ignition barrel.
